OUR SWIM LEVELS
WATER BABIES Parent & Tot | Ages: Infants to 3 years | Group Lesson 4:1 Ratio
This is an introductory parent and tot class that gets your little tadpole familiar with submerging their face, holding their breath, kicking, using their arms, and developing a basic sense of survival skills. Prerequisite: Swimmer must be accompanied by an adult or older teenager.
YOUTH Level 1 | Ages: 3-4 years & up | Semi-Private Lesson 2:1 Ratio
Swimmers will work on the basics of swimming which includes entering and exiting the pool, bobbing, going under water, supported front and back floating, supported rolling over from front to back and back to front, supported gliding, supported flutter kick, supported front crawl arms, and jumping in. Prerequisite: Swimmer should be comfortable playing in water they are able to stand in, such as a wading pool.
YOUTH Level 2 | Ages: 4-5 years & up | Semi-Private Lesson 2:1 Ratio
Swimmers will work on independent front and back floating, independent rolling over from front to back and back to front, independent front and back glides, front crawl arms and kicks, back crawl arms and kicks, retrieving underwater objects, and jumping into water over their head. Prerequisite: Swimmer should be able to put their head under water and be able to float on their front/back.
YOUTH Level 3 | Ages: 5-6 years & up | Semi-Private Lesson 2:1 Ratio
Swimmers will work on gliding, freestyle with side breathing, backstroke, breaststroke, dolphin kicks, retrieving objects in deeper water, treading water, and jumping into deep water. Prerequisite: Swimmer should be to swim the front stroke and swim on their back.
YOUTH Level 4 | Ages: 6-7 years & up | Semi-Private Lesson 2:1 Ratio
Swimmers will work on rotary breathing, freestyle, backstroke, elementary backstroke, scissors kick for sidestroke, whip kick for breaststroke, an introduction to wall turns, treading water with modified scissors, and surface diving from kneeling position. Prerequisite:Swimmers should be able to swim the front/back crawl.
YOUTH Level 5 | Ages: 7-8 years & up | Semi-Private Lesson 2:1 Ratio
Swimmers will work on alternate breathing, refining freestyle/backstroke/elementary backstroke/sidestroke/breaststroke, dolphin kick for butterfly, open turn on front and back, feet-first surface dive, and treading water. Prerequisite: Swimmers should be able to swim freestyle/breaststroke/backstroke, tread water, surface dive, and differentiate between a scissors kick, whip kick, and dolphin kick.
YOUTH Level 6 | Ages: 9-10 years & up | Semi-Private Lesson 2:1 Ratio
Swimmers will work on mastering all strokes, front/back crawl flip turns, breaststroke turn, breaststroke speed turn with pullout, butterfly turn, tread water for five minutes, and basic water rescue. Prerequisite: Swimmers should be able to swim all strokes and tread water for 3 minutes.
ADULT Level 1 | Ages: 15 years & up | Group Lesson 4:1 Ratio
Swimmers will learn to enter and exit the pool safely, control their breathing, proper body positions on both their front and back, proper flutter kick, basic paddle stroke, front crawl, back crawl, elementary backstroke, and basic water safety skills. Prerequisites: This level is designed to introduce the inexperienced/fearful adult to the water so they may become more confident and learn to enjoy the water safely.
ADULT Level 2 | Ages: 15 years & up | Group Lesson 4:1 Ratio
Swimmers will work on strengthening their front crawl/backstroke, how to recover to a swimming position when treading water, flip turn basics, breaststroke, sidestroke, and butterfly. Prerequisites: Swimmer should be able to tread water and swim the front crawl/backstroke.
ADULT Level 3 | Ages: 15 years & up | Group Lesson 4:1 Ratio
Swimmers will work on the further coordination of strokes to develop smoother swimming over longer distances, more advanced turns at the wall, and mastering safety skills. Prerequisite: Swimmer should have mastered the strokes in level 1/2. Swimmer should be ready to work on proper timing, technique, and stroke refinement in order to achieve more ease, efficiency, power, and endurance while swimming.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Will I get a refund or credit for missed lessons?
Payments are non-refundable and can't be transferred to other persons, programs, lessons, and/or classes.
Can I schedule a makeup classes for a missed lesson?
When NWK cancels >> NWK will schedule make-up lessons for classes cancelled due to certain events such as bad weather, etc...
When family cancels >> Due to the small/individualized class sizes, it's nearly impossible for NWK to offer a make-up lesson for a missed class resulting from illness, etc... If/when possible, NWK will allow for a make-up lesson should there be an available spot in another class time. NWK can not guarantee a make-up slot will be available.
